Controller configuration

Xtreme X standalone engine management for a custom-wired engine installation.

XtremeX offers eight injector and eight ignition drives for eight-cylinder or four-rotor sequential control. Electronic throttle, dual CAN and extensive I/O suit complex engine installations; wideband measurement requires a compatible external controller.

PRODUCT-SPECIFIC CHECKS

  • Identify Xtreme X hardware rather than the earlier Xtreme.
  • Define channel allocation, trigger pattern, communications and auxiliary functions.
  • Check A/B connector contents and termination scope against the actual unit.

Reference specifications describe the documented model, not an inspected supply unit. Match the hardware and package before ordering.

Details to confirm before ordering
  • Supply the label, hardware revision and connector photographs so the supplied unit can be matched to this reference.
  • The figures below describe the current manufacturer reference. Older hardware / firmware must be checked individually, especially logging capacity and input sharing.

Compatibility & requirements

Match the exact hardware, connection and application. A model name, vehicle name or connector shape alone does not establish compatibility.

  • Identify Xtreme X hardware rather than the earlier Xtreme.
  • Define channel allocation, trigger pattern, communications and auxiliary functions.
  • Check A/B connector contents and termination scope against the actual unit.

Bring your existing setup

  • Installation-specific wiring and connector termination
  • Sensors / actuators and their calibration or driver requirements
  • A matching tuning connection and computer setup

What’s included — define the package

Included: confirm in the quote

Distinguish the controller, A/B harness and loose connector / terminal set. Request quantities for each.

Required separately: check your installation

  • Installation-specific wiring and connector termination
  • Sensors / actuators and their calibration or driver requirements
  • A matching tuning connection and computer setup

Optional: discuss your application

  • Additional I/O or monitoring components for the project
  • Mounting or bypass hardware where required

These are package checks, rather than a guaranteed bill of materials. Your quote lists the actual supplied parts and quantities.

Installation & software

  • Use the exact ECU wiring diagram; verify every circuit for continuity and shorts before connecting power.
  • Choose PCLink for the correct G4+ or G4X generation. Set the trigger mode, synchronise base timing and allocate I/O before enabling boost, VVT or throttle control.

Questions about Xtreme X

What separates XtremeX from FuryX?

FuryX has six ignition drives and onboard digital wideband; XtremeX has eight ignition drives and needs external wideband control. Their analogue-input counts also differ.

Does using CAN2 change the available digital inputs?

Yes. The current manufacturer table states that two digital inputs are required for the second CAN bus. Account for this when assigning speed, switch and flex-fuel signals.

Does the model number define cylinder support?

Check the injection and ignition strategy, shared channels and required auxiliary functions for the actual hardware. A model number alone does not define a complete engine-control configuration.
