Read the release information and computer requirements before installing. Download wiring for the actual hardware revision at the same time; a new MTune release does not make a different-generation diagram applicable.

Separate power, USB and application checks
Check ECU supply, the data cable and the computer device list before changing calibration. Record whether the operating system sees a device and whether MTune identifies the ECU; those are two different stages.

Save a baseline before changes
Export the current configuration with a date, ECU identity and firmware note. Keep the original file read-only and work on a named copy. Send the exact error and version information when requesting help.
