01 / GUIDE
Identify the vehicle precisely
The same model can use different engines, ECUs and wiring across markets and production years. Begin with the market, make, model, year and engine code. An engine swap should be described separately from the vehicle chassis.
02 / GUIDE
Identify both sides of the connection
For an adapter harness, we need the original ECU and the target controller. Connector shape alone does not establish that the pin assignment or electrical signals match.
- Original ECU part number and identifying label.
- Target controller model and hardware revision.
- Existing harness or adapter details.
- Functions you need to retain and major modifications.
03 / GUIDE
Use photos to resolve unknowns
After the initial inquiry, connector-face and ECU-label photos can be shared by email. Include enough context to identify which side of a connector is shown. Do not repin or connect a system on appearance alone.
04 / GUIDE
A checked configuration, then a quote
Fitment review establishes the information still needed and the proposed parts. The final quote should clearly state the configuration and any installation requirements.
Checklist & example
- Vehicle: market / year / model. Engine: code and any swap.
- Original ECU: part number. Target ECU: model and hardware revision.
