MANUFACTURER LIBRARY

Official files & access

Files open on the manufacturer's website in their original language. Check the model and revision before use.

Reference documentation does not verify the identity, condition or package contents of an individual unit.

01 / SOFTWARE

Identify the hardware generation

Read the complete ECU label and identify its generation before downloading software. The official PCLink page separates supported packages; legacy units may require a historical release.

02 / SOFTWARE

Use official release information

Check the official download notes, supported ECU family and operating-system requirements. Do not infer compatibility from a similar product name or an unofficial file-sharing link.

03 / SOFTWARE

Keep the existing configuration

Before an agreed software or firmware change, retain a copy of the current configuration and record the versions. Decide with the installer how settings will be restored if the new connection cannot be completed.

04 / SOFTWARE

Prepare a useful support request

Include ECU generation, PCLink release, firmware, operating system, interface hardware and the exact error. This is more actionable than saying only that the cable does not work.

05 / SOFTWARE

Windows architecture and genuine hardware

The current official PCLink page excludes Windows ARM. Match the release to G4X or legacy G4+ hardware and use only hardware supported by Link. Software access alone cannot authenticate an ECU; check uncertain hardware with the manufacturer before connecting or updating.
